Project Overview

This project involved the design and construction of concrete pads to display Stryker vehicles and the installation of additional flagpoles at the 2-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) Headquarters lawn. The goal was to create a permanent and ceremonial display that honors the unit’s mission while enhancing the visual presence of the brigade headquarters.

My Role & Contributions

As part of the survey team, I (PV2 Peña) played a key role in the early phases of the project and contributed to the successful completion:

  • Conducted survey measurements for layout and siting of the concrete pads and flagpoles.

  • Assisted with drafting preliminary design layouts.

  • Coordinated with senior technical staff to ensure proper alignment, grading, and site placement.

  • Gained hands-on exposure to site preparation and layout verification.

Outcome & Lasting Impact

  • Two reinforced concrete pads were constructed, each supporting a parked Stryker vehicle.

  • Multiple flagpoles were installed, enhancing the ceremonial and visual presence of the headquarters entrance.

  • The completed project remains in place today, serving as both a symbol of the brigade’s identity and a lasting contribution to the installation.
