Project Overview
As part of the HHC 14th Brigade Engineer Battalion (BEB), our team proposed the design of new pavement on the existing gravel parking lot to support the battalion’s Supply Support Activity (SSA) Motor Pool. The project focused on improving vehicle circulation, accessibility, and operational efficiency within a high-use military facility.

My Role & Contributions
As a junior soldier (PV2), I assisted with the design process under SPC Nordquist. My work included:
Supporting survey operations by reviewing initial site data.
Assisting in the drafting and layout of the proposed parking lot design.
Learning and applying design standards for circulation, safety, and efficient use of space.
Collaborating with the survey and design tech teams to refine the proposal.
Skills & Experience Gained
Introduction to surveying processes for site development.
Practical experience in drafting and design collaboration.
Exposure to multidisciplinary coordination in an engineering project (survey, design, construction).
Early foundation in understanding the workflow from field survey to conceptual design.

Preliminary parking lot layout and design proposal.
Drafted concept under supervision, contributing to design accuracy and efficiency.
